Chinese Stir fry chicken livers and hearts

TOTAL TIME: 50 mins


Ingredients

1/4 cup cooking oil[add 1 tablespoon of oil with each addition of food to be cooked]

2 cups of broccoli and cauliflower florets

300 grams chicken livers

300 grams chicken hearts

1 brown onion roughly chopped

1 tablespoon minced garlic

1 tablespoon minced ginger

2 tablespoons sugar

1/2 cup soy sauce

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon Chinese cooking wine

1/4 cup oyster sauce

1/2 cup chicken stock

1 tablespoon cornflour dissolved in 1/4 cup cold water

add salt or add more soy sauce to taste




Method

In a bowl mix the soy sauce, oyster sauce , sesame oil , chicken stock,chinese wine and sugar and set aside

Place oiled frypan on a high heat and fry the brown onion and garlic and ginger for 2 minutes

Place cooked onion mixture in a bowl and set aside

Add a little more oil in the frypan and place the cauliflower and broccoli and cook on high heat for 2 minutes

Once again remove from the pan and set aside

Add a little more oil and add the cleaned and washed livers and hearts and fry till cooked about 1-2 minutes

Put the onion mixture and broccoli and cauliflower back into the frypan

Add the sauce mixture heat through well for about 1-2 minutes

Add the dissolved cornflour

Stir through till thickened slightly

Serve with steamed rice
